    Post  nandu on Thu May 12, 2011 8:56 am

    In the examination Raman scored 25 marks less than Rohit. Rohit scored 45 marks more than Sonia. Rohan scored 75 marks which is 10 marks more than Sonia. Ravi s score is 50 less than the maximum marks of the test.What approximate percentage of marks did Ravi score in the exam if he get 34 marks more than Raman?

    Options:

    60 70 80 90 85

    We know that Ravi's score + 50 = Maximum marks

    So maximum marks is 119 + 50 = > 169

    Now % of Ravi's marks is :

    120/170 * 100 => Approx 70%

    We can adopt some shortcut approach too.....

    50% of 170 = 85

    20% of 170 = 34

    70% of 170 = 119

    Hence answer is approximately 70%....
